Drill Teams

What is Drill?

Drill teams are about providing a better understanding of drill and ceremonies for both military and civilian functions. Drill consists of the following: Regulation, Exhibition, Inspection

We offer 4 different special teams in our unit. These include Color GuardArmed Team, Unarmed Team, and Saber Team. Each team has their own unique purpose, for instance...

Color Guard

The Color Guard is responsible for presenting the colors (American, State, and Service flags) for the playing of the National Anthem at special community, and school events. The commander is responsible for organizing and training the members of the Color Guard. Activities the Color Guard supports may include; school varsity sports games, community functions, and other special events on request.

Armed

The Armed Team is focused on learning their rifle’s respective manuals. For exhibition, this team can do many moves that would otherwise be prohibited (spinning rifles, tossing rifles, throwing rifles, etc.).

Unarmed

The Unarmed Team is essentially standard military marching; without the use of rifles. For exhibition, this team performs a percussive routine in which you use your body as an instrument (clapping, snapping, stomping, etc.).

Saber

Saber Team is an armed drill team specializing in drilling and ceremony. We perform regulation, exhibition, and cordon. The most prominent Saber Team event is Military Ball. Cadets will be taught how to properly handle and use a sword while drilling.
